dear Chris, My pair of original manilla thumbcuffs have one open circular link and are made of stainless steel with cork polishing ( circular marks)7 teeth on the bow.When I purchased 12 pair back in the 1980's from a guy who visited the Phillipines who knew a cop there, all the 12 pair were hand made and each key was slightly different in shape and size, not all keys were interchangeable. Also the amount of bow teeth varied.Of the few that i made as copies during that time, none were stainless steel and all worked with a standard pipe ( barrel) key and were nickle plated.
