"Wrong". Like I said, the seller lied about his reserve and the cuffs have been worked over. That is all plain and simple. If people on this board or in the collecting community do not care to hear what I know about these cuffs then by all means feel free to stop reading my posts on this subject. And, by the way, John's e mails to me are also available upon request. Especially the one where he tells me the reserve is below what I had intended to, and then DID bid. Like I said in my earlier e mail, this situation smacks of the Horst Stein leg iron which sold on ebay a short time ago, i.e., an auction starts, and it is then closed down so the seller can crank up the reserve. P.S. I am not vengeful as John puts it but I admit I am pissed off that he lied to me about the reserve that was set. At this point I really don't care one way or the other. Besides, I already have two Berliner cuffs in much better shape. Regards, Steve Santini.: Hi , I am the seller of the Berliner cuffs . Mr. Santini does not tell the whole truth to this matter . He emailed me and asked me to end my auction early . He offered me $1,000.00 to end this auction . I will admit that my reserve was far below his offer . I deal in collectables for a living and of course when he made me such an offer I became worried about my low reserve . I emailed him to tell him I was ending the auction early . I told him my new reserve would be below his offer . He immediately emailed me back saying I had two hours to accept his offer and that after this time he would not honor it . He said he would be "out of town " for the end of this auction and could not bid . Yeah , and I was born yesterday ! . I feel noone has the right to dictate terms on my merchandise so when Mr. Santini told me I had only two hours to sell to him or forget it . I simply did forget it . I relisted the cuffs later that evening . Mr. Santini then bid on the cuffs and was disapointed because my reserve was not met . He retracted his bid , which is evident on my ebay bid history . Stating that I had lied to him about my reserve . The teeth on these cuffs are not filed in , they are machined in . I know nothing of handcuffs but the hinge bolt has been there forever and has been put there to hold a loop for fastening to something , possibly a belt . Mr. Santini told me he would fix it so noone would bid on my item . So I guess this is how a vengeful person operates . By asking me to end this auction he has tried to cheat everyone else out of a chance to bid . Feel free to email me with any questions or photos of these cuffs . I have absolutely nothing to hide . Mr. Santini's emails are available upon request . Thank You , John
