: ok

Houdini did escape from nearly all the plug '8' handcuffs he was challanged with, he devotes quite a long chapter in his book Handcuff Secrets and show two tools for removing the plugs and another for undoing them. He did come unstuck and failed when he visited Hiatt in Birmingham who locked a set of their old Plug '8' Legirons on him. These are now in my collection and I had to ask Ian McColl to make me a key which he did and the result is superb. These legirons not only had a left hand thread but they also had what is known as a 3 start left hand thread where there are 3 independant threads on both the key and locking barrel. This combined with the large central spike means there is virtually no clearance to insert anything into their mechanism to rotate the locking collar.
