Houdini did quite well at destroying the reputations of his so called "imitator's". Branding Brindemour as a ballet cross dresser in "Houdini on Magic", then attacking Cunning, and discrediting Grosse in the prose.

try typing in "The Great Johnson with his mysteries! Magician and Escape King" this should fix you up with a tool and example to begin searching for some information that is out on the net. Unfortunatly, Houdini did an excellent job at overshadowing the lives and careers of many other escape artists. You could also do random searches on regular search engines "Google" however you'd be amazed at the multitudes of usless information linked to Escape Artist, Escape King, Escapologist...
The Magical Pastimes site is another source to check and see if anything appears on other artists.
