Hello,

first of all I want to thank Joe, Michael and especially Chris for determine what kind of handcuffs I purchased recently.

If I understand Chris right, my cuffs were made between 1796 and 1841 by a company that later became "Field & Sons". And it's also possible that this company was "only" a kind of retailer for Hiatt products.

BTW: I find it's strange that the Hiatt key is stamped with a second "t", because on the Hiatt site you could read that this second "t" was added while WW II. On the other hand at eBay I saw Hiatt Boer War figure 8 stamped with two t's, too. Is it possible that Hiatt is wrong concerning this detail of the companies history?

Regards,
Atame
