Hi Jim: Actually Valor sells many types of single lock and double lock cuffs and Legirons. Most are made in Taiwan, and have been for many years. Valor is an importer and buys enough quantity that they have their name put on the cuffs. Prices should be between $ 3.00 and $ 20.00...I agree that darbies are available on ebay, but you should be warned that most are modern reproductions made in India, and are of inferior quality. I would stick with ones marked Hiatt or Froggatt or other manufacturers, and stay away from those marked "Wells fargo", "Yuma prison" etc. Also most that are sold as civil war or slave or movie props, are modern copies. Hiatt still makes Darbies, and they are available from most Hiatt dealers.

: I'm a novice collector...I own only five handcuffs at the moment. Scouting local antique shops, I've come across a pair of Hiatt Antique Adjustable Darby cuffs, with key, in very nice condition. There's no rust, and the plating has only minor pitting. The word "Hiatt" is visible near the hinges. The asking price was $195, which I believe is too high...but by how much? If anyone can help, I'd be appreciative.
: Another individual had a pair of cuffs that resemble S&W 100's, but with the trade name "VALOR" stamped across the face of each cuff. Any idea regarding the actual manufacturer and the value? These were in excellent condition as well, with a single key.
: Thanks for your help!
