Hello,

First of all: on Hiatt Darbies made winter 1940 the company was spelt "Hiat" with one "T'.

The modern Hiatt reproductions, Ian mentioned, are marked with "English" on the tube-hinge. Old ones (made before 1960) are commonly marked with "British Made" on the bow. Other markings of vintage Hiatts are "Hiatt" or "Hiatt Best", "Hard" and "Warrented Wrought".

Regards,
Atame
