Dear Atame; thank you for emailing the picures you have of the two Stotz handcuffs. I was about to post another message to say that the Barmen Muhlenfeld company also picture a Stotz handcuff in their catalogue ( and I assume that the original Stotz with 'Horse' mark was made by another company.

I am very pleased to report that both Stotz handcuffs you have are original and that the curved milled notches in your second cuff, which you thougth was a copy has been reversed from the way I machined my notches. In my cuff the notches are curved where the locking bolt enters and have a squared end where the bolt bears upon the notch.

So there are three variations of the Stotz.
2 made well before 1950 and mine made in the 1990's.
