Hi Atame,

I have also been pointed out/noticed the difference between the two different 1960's.

This is interesting as the earlier lightweight's finish matches the 1970 cuff with the nickle heavyweight sticking inbetween the two like a sore thumb (also with rivets exposed; the other two cuffs have a smooth finish).

Regards,

Tom

: Hello,

: I recently got a pair of American Munitions (Chicago) Leg Irons which look more silver (shiny) than my American Munitions (Fond du Lac) Leg irons. Visiting Joe's gallery I think it's quite the same with the similar American Munitions Handcuffs. Now I ask myself (and you, of course) if the older one has a chrome and the newer one a nickel finish. I could also make out this difference when comparing my Hiatt's 1960 light version (chrome?) with my Hiatt's 1960 heavy version (nickel?). My Peerless 1912 (by S&W) also looks like it could be chrome finished - looking again in Joe's gallery I think this could be right because there's a chrome version of such handcuffs. A friend of mine said that nowadays a chrome finish is quite unusual but I think that wasn't so in the past, was it?

: Regards from Bavaria,
