Regarding some swingthrough GDR hinged cuffs in mint
condition, I was told that they had been bought in an
arms shop some twelve years ago as a new item.
I was told they had been packed in a paper bag marked
"Handschellen gefertigt für VoPo, NVA von JVA Bautzen",
price (then) 39 marks.
It has been previously stated that such handcuffs were
manufactured in a Brandenburg prison. Could it be that
production of such items took place at different
locations, maybe at different times, maybe each
location its own design? (for example: the old
non-swingthrough design coming from Brandenburg,
the newer swingthrough from Bautzen??)
What do you think about this information I was given?
